Added Value by Brett Sanger (swiftone @ alumni.psu.edu) Now that we've rolled out our second issue, Fudge Factor is a reality. Which makes me think about it's longevity. These days it seems pretty obvious that being online doesn't guarantee success. It doesn't even guarantee that your website will be around a year from now. In order to keep our authors submitting, our readers visiting, and our staff working, we need to have a goal, and we need to have a plan to reach that goal. I mentioned our goals last issue, this time I'll be rambling briefly about our means of achieving those goals. Because our content is author submitted, we have to do something to make Fudge Factor worth more than those articles would be worth on various webpages suppoorted by their authors. We have to add value. So here is the value we plan to offer you, the reader:
Talk, of course, is cheap. To see our (figurative) money put where my mouth has gone, continue to check in regularly. We've got many projects in the works, and with new editors coming on staff, our issue quality should continue to improve. To help us reach our lofty goals, submit material, or send comments to the staff. |
