In Our Next Issue

Lucky Thirteen
We are still seeking submissions
for the March issue, which will be entitled "Lucky 13" in
homage to Fudge Factor's troubled history as we finally
reach our thirteenth issue. Articles which fit this
loosely defined "theme" would be particularly welcome --
the good news is, you get to decide what that means! You
can interpret it however you like -- "luckless" Fudge
mechanics, superstitious magic, using something other than
dice to cast your fate in Fudge, adventures featuring vast
sinister conspiracies, or something completely your own!
A Classic Con Game
Lucky Thirteen will see the publication of the classic con
game A Bad Day at the Lab written by Steffan O'Sullivan
himself, provided courtesy of Ann Dupuis (www.fudgerpg.com), and we couldn't be more excited to be able
to provide this as a part of the new Fudge Factor!
2004 and Beyond
Looking beyond the March issue, we do plan to have the
occasional "themed" issue if we get enough articles
appropriate to a particular genre or broad concept.
These themes include:
- War (and military things): Tactics, running large
battles, particular wars as campaign settings, etc.
- Space: Space vehicles, methods of FTL travel in Fudge,
creating solar systems, planets, and alien races in
Fudge, etc.
- Romance: Modelling relationships with Fudgey mechanics,
how to run romance plots in Fudge, ideas you can
borrow from Romantic literature for your Fudge games,
etc.
- Horror: Fear, monsters, insanity, and all the good
things in life.
- Man and Machine: Cybernetics in Fudge, robotic
characters, artificial intelligence.
But if you don't have something that fits a particular
theme, fear not! The bulk of our issues -- and even our
"themed" ones -- will always have a few articles of
general applicability for Fudge, so if you have an idea
for an article -- any article -- send it on!
Renewed Commitment to Commercial Support
We are also actively interested in articles that provide
support for the various and sundry commercial Fudge
products out there, in the form of product reviews,
adventures, characters, and so on. We'll need to clear any
such articles with the publishers first (you may wish to
do this yourself before submission), but we would like to
see Fudge Factor give a little back to those proud and
noble few who've gotten the stuff together to put out a
commercial product for our favorite game system.
If you have any idea for an article, please take the
time to write and submit it --
you'll be supporting both Fudge Factor and the Fudge community!
