Fudge Factor wants you! We need your articles for our May issue and beyond, whether it's something you've cooked up independent of our suggestions, or fits one of our calls for articles fitting a theme (see below). Without the regular contributions of its readers, Fudge Factor just won't make it -- become a participant!
As a part of our continuing coverage of the classic game Gatecrasher, this issue takes a look at how to bring the Gatecrasher setting to Five Point Fudge.
Our interview with Ann Dupuis continues as we discuss the future directions of Fudge.
Know of a new -- or old -- Fudge product (or set of products) that's worthy of a review? We're interested in seeing submissions of those as well! Send us your reviews of Heart Quest, The Collectors, Pariah, Terra Icognita, or something else!
And as you may have noticed, we plan to have the occasional "themed" issue if we get enough articles appropriate to a particular genre or broad concept. These themes include:
- Matters of Faith: Religion, morality, pantheons, holy weaponry, the power of belief ...
- Horror: Monsters and other things what go bump in the night; explorations and enhancements for The Collectors; how to add fear and loathing to any Fudge game; etc.
- Romance: Modelling relationships with Fudgey mechanics, how to run romance plots in Fudge, ideas you can borrow from Romantic literature for your Fudge games, etc.
- War (and military things): Tactics, running large battles, particular wars as campaign settings, etc.
- Space and Technology: Space vehicles, methods of FTL travel in Fudge, creating solar systems, planets, and alien races in Fudge, etc, as well as methods for handling the softer side of "high" (cinematic) science fiction. Also cybernetics, robotic characters, and artificial intelligence.
But if you don't have something that fits a particular theme, fear not! The bulk of our issues -- and even our "themed" ones -- will always have a few articles of general applicability for Fudge, so if you have an idea for an article -- any article -- send it on!
